TINA DRESS

Pop doesnโ€™t have to be polluting! The Tina dress, seen above on the sparkling Rosaly Rubio, is crafted from waste.

Freyja believes we can create beautiful, sparkling worlds from the rubble of late stage capitalism. She rejects the thinking that sustainable choices has to mean less fun. Itโ€™s simply a parameter in which to play! Self expression, joy and talent are boundless, they are not the property of the old consumerist paradigm. Freyja constructed this costume from 50 drink cans and 2 up cycled tops.

She used 3D software to construct the nets and shapes needed to form the joined surfaces of the Tina dress.

Though 3D software was used this was also very much a hand craft project. Many, many, many hours of work went into this piece, methodically cleaning, flattening, cutting, scoring, folding and fixing each piece by hand into a unique low impact couture garment.
